I can’t remember the name of this particlar location, but it might as well be called the Place of the Stuck Lorries. It is so notorious, that one bus company had a painting of it with all the stuck lorries on its sign.
Our driver just drove off the road, skidding this way and that, past all these stranded drivers waiting for the mud to dry out.
Shortly after we passed a coke truck that had rolled on New Years Eve, some four days previously. The driver was waiting to be rescued, but couldn’t leave his load strewn at the side of the road. He looked pretty dazed by the whole experience. We left him with a couple of cigarettes.
No wonder there hadn’t been much to drink in Tunduru.
